Well today I hop onto the freeway in town on my wy back from work, accelerate up to 55mph top merge, right at 55 motor just turns off. No funny noises or anything. So I coasted up the road and pulled off on a side road. Hoped out and took a look, nothing noticeable leaking out underneath, so I tried starting it. All it does is turn over, no funny noises or anything, turns over freely, just won't start. I pulled the bat cables to reset the computer and tried again with no luck.

Only funny thing I noticed is, the intake runners were warm like they should be on a warm motor, but the outer part of the intake all around had 0 temp to it. Which is strange, any SHO I've ever seen that outer intake gets just as hot as the inner. Anyways I have had a slight antifreeze leak for a while, never had the car stall or sputter, I havent checked where the leak is from. But now I assume it's very possible it could be the water pump. Thing is I let the car sit for over an hour came back and tried again with the same results. If it was the CPS, is it possible it just died out instantly instead of the normal sit for 30min then start again.

Either way I hope someone has expirenced this before or can give me some advice, thanks.

Both very good questions. I would say it's not the CPS unless you were able to start it again after the "CPS is wet" waiting period.

If the tach moves, it does not rule out the CPS but if the tach DOES NOT move, you are possibly looking as DIS or Coilpack circuitry.

connector has 4 wires looking at plug with the largest tang towards the top. wires are 1 and 2 on top 3 and 4 on bottom like this 1 2 4 3 1 is pip to eec 2 is pip to dis 3 is v bat 4 is ign ground. the terminal 3 should have power and both the pips will have a ac signal (varying voltage)

yes, you need to have power at the CPS and the crank needs to be moving to create the pulse you will see on the voltmeter.
