Hey Kirk, what do you mean by "rattles the trans out of the car"? Have you seen or heard of the limits of the drivetrain yet? I just ask out if curiousity. I heard the same about reducing or eliminating completely the torque management in the 4r100 in my Lightning and I never had one issue

There hasnt been something on the car that I haven messed with yet.. Our car showed up 9/15/09 and started tuning 9/16/09. First day was figureing out how to defeat AWD so we could go blow some FWD burnouts :)

About a week into tuning the car we were at the Tq RED switch, so I turned it off to see what exactly it did, drove up the street normally and never noticed anything, so I went to our "closed road" and did a fullt throttle run, on the 1-2 shift it felt like the car wanted to turn sideways from the Tq, of course im like OH yeah!!!!!!! got to the end turned around and did the same thing this time the trans felt like it was about to break out of the engine bay and go its seperate way...

its hard to explain exactly what it felt like so Ill have to add all this thengs that I remember.. felt like it was driving over a rumble strip, with a slipping trans that would catch at 4k if reved high enough, then Wham it shifted and sounded like it broke a axle.. I was like Oh **** and I drove it back nice and easy just as the odometer was turning 100 miles..

Bill from maine was running a ****** Hennessey tune( I hate Hennessey) Tune was ok.. and his car at WOT 1-2 had the same rumble strip feel to it, im sure there is a sweet spot with this function if you guys really feel the need to turn it off, but I would just up the limits untill you get it right.. or better.

All of those numbers are in Nm, so get your Nm calculator handy to modify these tables.. PS, there are Ford guys here that read this so say good buy to the warranty when the trans goes boom..

one other bit of advice.. Keep it rich! the 5 that have blown up so far have been from people leaning out the car to make higher numbers.. and they have not been all that lean!

Thanks Kirk. I appreciate the info. Hmmmm....my tm was turned off before and I didn't get any issues like you've described, I'll have to look into that a little further.

Wow 5 have blown up already from tunes!!! Well that answers my questions, I'll be holding off on a tune. There aren't that many SHO's on the road in the first place and there really aren't that many that are tuned so with that said that's a pretty damn high percentage of tuned blown up motors.

Though the SHO is relatively new, tuning a power adder vehicle isn't. Our tuner Dan Millen is conservative and won't tune anything on the edge. He has been tuning for years and also tuned and drove his Livernois built 2,500 HP single turbo small block Mustang. Dan tunes every vehicle that comes through the doors and drives our SHO daily. He doesn't drive it easy and we've never had any problems. You just can't get carried away with boost, timing, or A/F. He prefers to leave everything a little rich just to be safe. With this being said, there is no guarantee on OEM parts, but in the 8 years I've been with the company, I've never seen him break a car on the dyno and can remember cars we built that long ago that are still running strong.

Dan tuned my DD turbo Cobalt SS the day I bought it. Stock, it made 12 lbs and it now makes 20 lbs. I drive my cars extremely hard as well and have never had a single issue in 20,000 miles (other than going through tires quickly)
