DANIELE NEEDS A NEW BATTERY but why can't i find what the book says

Okay so I know I could look for a while to figure out another post regarding this, but I have a 2013 not PP and my battery, well it's obviously the cars second battery at the least since it's a Duralast Gold 65-DLG. (I know the RC is 150, but the cranking amps is covered up unless I take it apart, which I'd like to avoid at the moment unless I need to)

I know my book says I need BXT-65-650 but I am only seeing BXT65's in 750 or 850.

If anyone could please help, I have some random corrosion going on and it's bulging on both sides of the battery so I need one asap but because of my resources and the wildly poopy experience from where I purchased it, which as convenient as it can be -it's literally right across the road from my work, I refuse to go to there because I'll probably just get mad since I'm still working on my BBB complaints on them.

Head to your local Ford dealer. Get the 750. It's the same price as the 650.

As long as the size is the same you can use larger Cold Cranking Amps in your battery. Usually the rating is for minimal acceptable (to them) CCA's. Do you have a reduced amount of viable store selections in your area? I would computer shop the price. Or if convenience is a must then go to wherever is not the one you hate. I also agree with Irish Pride above. Ford dealers are getting competitive with some parts. I just bought a Ford PCV valve for my truck for $14. It was $30 at the other aftermarket stores

You are correct about the Ford parts aspect, I just asked now what the difference is between the 750 and 850, at the Ford dealership I bought it from, and they are literally only $10 difference. But it's actually cheaper to get the battery at the dealership vs. any auto part store I seem to be looking at.

I live in Wisconsin and this is my every day driver, and I also do have a 12" sub and such, though I do have a capacitor but I don't think that affects my battery - sorry I'm still a n00b lol.
I'm just trying to know what would be better for my situation, because nobody is really telling me what to go with and why lol, only really regarding the price.. Which if the price isn't much of a difference with regards to my decision, so then why shouldn't I go with the 850 vs. the 750 ? I just don't know lol.

I would really just like to understand, even with recommendation, a decent explanation besides price point would be superb.

I was told just now at the place I bought it, which is a Ford dealership, that the 650 is not made anymore by Motorcraft

No reason not to get the higher CCA battery.

If they have a 750 at about the same price the I would just get that if you need this asap for daily. Irish knows his stuff as he works at a dealership and is also a SHO nutty person. When I had a system hooked up to a slow leak battery with some white on the terminal the system seemed to accelerate the build up. Also extra electronics with who knows what wiring running off the battery could also have extra draw when the car is off.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I was literally just told that they didn't make them anymore. From the Ford Dealership I bought my car from but I hate that place. lol But I think since its only January and I'm looking at another four months of weather that drops down to negative at some times, that I'll go with the 850.

I wonder though why we don't have any here, and why they would tell me that?
I also cannot find that battery at any part store either.
Maybe it's a Wisconsin thing? I have no idea.

You need a group 65 battery. Doesn’t need to be Motorcraft. If you live in cold weather get the highest CCA you can find 750 minimum. I would even look into an AGM type.

My dealership currently has 14 in stock and my Motorcraft distributor has over 300 available to buy. Haven't heard anything about them being phased out. I'll look into it tomorrow.

I just pulled up some ford parts sites on google. fordparts.com has it listed and ford parts giant lists it as discontinued. I saw a few other sites and they were hit and miss.

It's been a couple years now but I was able to get the exact same Motorcraft battery at O'Reilly's at a better price than the dealer.

You need a group 65 battery. Doesn’t need to be Motorcraft. If you live in cold weather get the highest CCA you can find 750 minimum. I would even look into an AGM type.

AGM. A lot of chain stores have discounts online. I bought an AGM online and picked it up in store the same day.

I just went with the 850, considering it gets very cold here in Wisconsin and gets pretty hot in the summer. But it looks like I have more than a battery issue.... the way that my battery was bulging on the sides - like a wave - indicated that it apparently was being over-charged? It was a crap Duralast battery but I've never experienced a battery looking like, especially since it has to have happened in a short period of time - I've only had the car since April of last year and I know besides me, theres been more than one person that would have noticed the battery. So going to check out the alternator tonight. Anyone have any other suggestions as to what would have overcharged my battery?

If you have forscan reset the battery monitor. For alternators issue OBD dongles and an app are plenty cheap to monitor how its charging.
