so i'm at toronto motorsports park (road course) and after each session i open my hood to allow the engine to cool. and after the 3rd session or so i noticed when i closed the hood (hood pins no latch) there was a rattle comming from the pass rear hing. I walked over and wiggled that corner. It was loose I thought OH shit its loose so i went over to my toolbox thinking the bolts worked them selves loose but i was wrong. the bracket housed inside the CF/fiberglass has broken free. now when i hit 100mph the rear of the hood is bouncing up and down about 3inches which is has never done before. I was going to contact the manufacture but its out of warranty so i'm not going to bother but thats kind of a drag.

i think i've come up with a fix though, i'm going to drill a small hole in the fiber glass near the hinge plate and fill the area with epoxy and make it solid.

the hood has been on teh car for over a year and i havent had any problems with it since i pinned it until now.

yeah scuff up the area and use some strong epoxy, coldweld, jb weld or something, as long as it states that it will bond to fiberglass/carbon

I have the fiberglass cowl on my car and it never latched. I had to eliminate the latch because the manufacturer or the guy i bought the hood from would help me out. so now my hoods at the body shop because it broke in half when it flew up into my windshield. Lesson learned make sure its locked down. LOL

Just put hood pins at 4 corners and forget the hinges.

Never ONLY Pin it... You should always depend on the main latch. Pins next.

Did I jinx you when we were talking about it at TMP?

maybe:)

the bouncing of the rear of the hood may be related to something else. when i installed my tranny cooler i cut a 4" section out of the air dam to run wiring for the fan, i wonder if there is a airflow problem related to that or the fact that my fog lights are removed and nothing is filling the space.
