Cutting Moog CC coil springs(Front)

Do you cut the top or bottom of the spring?I saw someone post that you cut the bottom,but the bottom coils have a smaller diameter and get larger as you go up.Shouldnt the top of the coil springs be cut like on the Intrax springs?Do you have to flatten the top cut spring to fit in the top strut mount securely?

Also I saw one post say he got 1" drop by cutting 1.5 coils off the front and another guy got 2" although I think the second guy had the GenII springs and Im not sure what the 1st guy had.

If you are going to cut springs you have to cut the top coil(s).
