Anyone made a custom intake or modified their stock air box to flow better or just look better?

I have one on my Flex... There should be pix in a thread from a couple years ago if you do a search.. I used a ROTO FAB "J" pipe I had and added an AEM filter. Secured it to the turbo inlet with a couple pieces of hose and 4 clamps around a hard piece of PVC that was ported at the ends by me, for smooth flow. Have a Red K & N filter cover to finish it off.

May be only "Visual Fluff", but it turned out nice. From what I have read, the stock air box is nearly or possibly better than the aftermarket stuff out. Scrming who posts here, I believe went back to the stock box from an AirAid and got better results.

You can always install a K & N drop in filter in the stock box for improved flow.

Alright thanks. Is there anything under the box that is used to make less air sound coming into the car. In my Pontiac G6 there was a weird bubble thing under the box that was used to make the car quieter but when I took that out it made the car sound a bit deeper all while keeping the box in place.

so is that a seperate piece from the box to deaden sound coming into the box holding the filter or are you meaning that you made your intake work using where the box holds in place.
