One of my many projects custom gauge pod didn't feel like spending $280 on the only one that is in existence. I'm making a custom pod for my 7" screen for the 3D 360 degree camera system for my car. Started this about a week ago here's my progress so far. I use the plate from the top of the dash for my bottom plate for the pod. This is molded out of clay then I will make a silicone mold and then I'll cast it in plastic resin. This is like the five different stages until the final which I think I might cut it down 1 inch lower maybe destruct in my view.

Cool idea, but I it's a little bit too bulky for my taste.

It would be nice to fit a livewire tuner in there.

first thing you've done that I'm not feeling haha. What will this screen be used for that the stock one can't? I just like clean lines and minimized distractions I guess.

Neat idea.

Slimming it down seems like a good idea. Especially since the top seems to obstruct some vantage through the windshield.

Anyway to slightly drop it down into the existing cavity of the center channel speaker (once the cover is removed that is)?

Would that help aid in lowering overall height?

As I type that, my thought was you'd then have to probably angle the top of the screen towards the windshield, which might then cause glare, but there are various clear films that can be purchased that BOTH protect the screen, as well as eliminate/reduce glare for better viewing.

Just brainstorming.

Good luck with the project in either case. Unique!!!
