Cruise/Steering Woes?

When I have the cruise control set, it will work fine for a few minutes, then it will shut off by itself. When this happens, I also loose my power steering, and both will not work again unless I cycle power. Any ideas? Thanks

VSS may be bad. Vehicle Speed Sensor.

Power steering should work as long as the engine is running...right?

Yes, but the car in question has variable assist power steering, in part controlled by the VSS. It may cause the power steering to become cumbersome?

Sorry, if it helps the car is a 95 MTX. I can't really tell if the power steering is working on a very minimum basis when it happens, or if it is working at all.
