I am new to the list and just got a sweet deal on a 92 SHO from a small used car dealer that couldn't figure out its glitch. Here is it problem sometimes it is hard to start one running it idles very smooth but at any rpm will die out sharply. It will sometimes do this at Idle or WOT. The tach with go to 0 even if it is coasting in gear but once the engine fires back up (which it will do after about 1-2 seconds) everything goes back to normal. Any help would be great.
Also what spark plugs are recomended for best perfomance.
Thanks Kevin

Yes, this could be the crank position sensor.
You can find instructions on how to read the engine computer codes at www.shotimes.com under "maintenance". The cps usually gives a code.

I use Motorcraft plugs, the price for some of the cheaper ones isn't that much difference.

If you don't mind my asking, how much did you spend on the car?
