does harmonic balancer bolt come out clockwise or counter clockwise?? Thanks for help :thankyou:

Then How does the bump-start seem to loosen it? Every other car I've worked on is reverse thread on the crank pulley...

Also, does anyone know the torque specs for the crank pulley?

The bump start method is supposed to loosen the crank bolt. You have to tighten it the other way.

I'm pretty sure the torque spec for the crank bolt is 120 ft-lbs. Maybe more than that. Correct me if I'm wrong.

113-126 lb-ft per the 1991 Ford shop manual. I imagine this would be the same for an atx car.

Which would mean it loosens by the handle getting wedged downward meaning its loosening going to the right...
