So I went to install my UDP and I got my impact gun ready and turned my compressor on and was ready for a long day of trying to remove the crank bolt and I look at it and was halfway out. I have heard the term crank cancer but not 100% sure what it means.

Also I don't believe I ever removed the crank bolt before. I bought the car with 112k on it 7 years ago, it now has 310k and I never replaced the Crank sensor or water pump, still no leakage from the water pump and I am not sure it was replaced before I bought it.

Only way to determine if it has cancer is to go a bit deeper.

At minimum remove the lower timing cover. Then you will have eyes on the crank timing belt gear, and the keyway/key.

If it has cancer, the keyway and the key will be worn, in a very obvious WRONG manner.
