Cracking sound when car is moving and hit a bump or hole

it seems to be coming from the driver side front and it only does it when the suspension is compressed i guess? well it does it when my car is moving and i hit a bump or a small hole or somthing of that nature. am i looking at half shafts or what? please help

Start simple. Look at the swaybar end links first and then go from that point.
Strut mount bearings, etc etc. Mike Kelly
