Drill bit. The other one dosent look much better. I'll send you an oil pump with a good cps and front main in trade for your wheels. ;)

No really take the other screw out... find a drill bit just a tad smaller than the threads... drill until you think your into the shaft of the screw. Then put a screwdriver on top of the head of it, (sideways of the screws direction) then smack it, it should pop right off.. I just did that with something the other day.. Can't remember what it was now..

Go to sears or a hardware store and ask for an "easy out" / screw extractor set. With a steady hand drill a small hole in the center of the damaged screw insert easy out ( sometimes it helps to give it a little tap with a hammer) then turn counter clockwise. Practice on one or two small screws in a wooden block to get the hang of it first. It helps to drill at a slow speed and a steady hand. Drill in about a 1/4 of an inch.

Quick easy fix. I just did the front 60k on my SHO and had the same problem. take a dremil with a grinding/cutting wheel on it cut a slot all the way down so you can use a flat head and screw it right out. Works like a charm

All the above mentioned methods work... I've had the least amount of success with easy outs however... unless its a larger bolt or nut.

if you grind the head completely off, it will remove any tension on the threads and it *should* be able to spin out by hand; otherwise just use a bit of heat and some vice grips. I was able to find some tiny hex head bolts to replace the Phillips screws for next time should the CPS decide to crap out.

Start off by removing as little material as possible... the more material you remove... the less there is to grab, the harder it is to get out!

They gotta be some duck billed vise grips... I have one with a screw that isnt playing nice on that spare oil pump I have, and I can't get my "standard style" to bite that round head. Thats why I say drill it.. dremel idea could work too.. :)

Did this, worked like a charm. Then I went and bought two new screws for the replacement.

I used a flat head screw driver and hammer and I broke the CPS out and then I used vice grips to get the stripped screws out. With CPS out of the way you have more room to grip the screws.
