i want a cowl hood for my SHO, sadly there is a lot of ****** at my school , or in other words ricers, and since i am putting a "import killas" sticker on my SHO , that might **** em off, as my friends mustang with a cowl ****** em off, they ripped of the cowl, and they messed with his motor and what not, and before somone says "dont put on the sticker", why should i be the one not to put a sticker on my car, there the one who sucks. my question is is the cincy cowl hood functional with hood struts, like the stock hood?

Ok I may not be the same mold person you are, but when I see an import killer sticker or anything of that type all I think of is like 16 year old. I don't care if you have a cavalier or a SHO or even a damn viper, if you can "****" an import why not demonstrate rather than promote the possibility on your car. I like the fact that these cars look like a sleeper and love having four doors and room for 5. Anywas not trying to be a dick, but just voicing my opinion. As for the cowl hood my cincy sho hood has no hood struts and latches down just like an OEM. I don't see how'd they'd mess with anything without getting inside and physically pulling the lever out. It is fiberglass and could be broken a lot easier I suppose, but if they're willing to do that then you're talking major vandalism and a call to the police. Anyways don't antagonize the ricer boys just let them think you've got a good looking taurus that they could beat up on and once they race you they will be thinking import killer wink Just not a big sticker fan I guess.

Also as far as your friends mustang how did he have his hood on. I still have to release mine from inside the car so I was wondering how they got under his hood.

the cowl hood from cincy is very very very strong, i was cleaning my garage at home, and was trying to throw away the old cracked cowl hood that i had on when i got in a wreck, it was cracked in 8 places, i ran it over with my truck countless times and many different ways, it never lost structure to give you an idea it did crack more, but never shattered or came even close, if those kids could rip it off with their hands ir even a crow bar, let them, they deserve it, its not possible by any human.

Umm,not to be a dick, but 14.8`s does not make it a factory freak. There are lots of sub 15 SHO`s nowadays. They seem to be getting faster as they age.Just 2 years ago,14`s were unheard of in a stock SHO.

Well if you actually get all this done good for you but since it will cost you about $10k or more and even at that I haven't seen many blown cars get out of the 13's and I've seen a bunch of 11 and 12 second imports so alot of them will still beat you no problem.

That 14.89 was ran at LACR, one of SOCAL's crappiest track, its at 2500 feet, has 40 year old pavement, and go's up a little bit before the the finish line....sounds like a factory freak to me

Me being 16 myself i seem to be in the same situation. Those 11 and 12 second imports cost around 5-10k to get that fast. Since living in quakertown pa i know almost all of the imports around here have no more than a "cold air intake" and exhaust done, chances are its the same in lancaster. there are not many ricers that are that quick, few are though.... 2tochoose..your being pretty negative and nieve.

My friends think the same thing except I'm 17 now. I wouldnt put a sticker anywhere on my SHO personally but I like your idea. I've just had some bad experiences with ricers.

First off, I'm 17. Had a SHO since I was 16.
Well, maybe because of my experiences, or maybe because of my reputation, I just dont see the need for a sticker that is just going to bring people's vandalism to my car. Just in case you didnt notice, your car is powered by an import motor. If not for this car you'd probably be driving an Import.
Putting a sticker on your car that says "Import Killa" is going to not only bring unwanted attention from the ricers, but also from the cops. Trust me on that one, you advertise, you'll get noticed. And there is always a faster car. Always.
Why not just challenge people privately to races. Talk a little crap. Instead of getting unwanted attention, you'll just slowly have a reputation spread of your "fast Taurus" or "the SHO man". Everybody knows me, even though in all my races, nobody except a select few friends have been there to see them. In the middle of nowhere. Even though there were only a few people, I am now regarded as the fastest car in the parking lot. The ricers dont bother me any more, they come to me for advice. If you take a different attitude towards others, they'll do the same for you.

well , i guess you are right, the import killa thing i thought was a funny thing to put on a "TAURUS", but i guess there are a lot of ****** in my town who will see it as evrything else other then some good ol rivalry between domestics and imports........maybe ill put somthing less crude like "imports are good.....i just ate one", how about that?

Id have to agree that stock SHOs seem to be gett'n faster with age. i havnt timed it but since i did my engine work it flys now. my guess is that parts that are replaced durring the 60k are vital, and that mixed with other engine components that are broken in make a stock motor faster over time. ive even heard before it may take 100k for a V6 SHO to really be broken in.
"remember this is just a theory".
bottom line a great engine
