Hey guys I have a CF cowl hoow that I bought hood pins for. My problem is that where the pins have to mount, the hood is about 2-3 inches thick and it seems like that is the frame for the hood. It is not on the thin part of the hood. Where and how did you guys mount yours? I have the aerocatch locking hood pins. Does anyone have any pictures of the underside of their hood with the pins mounted? I am scared t ocut throught that part becasue I think the hood may sag or crack over some time because I took away support.

When we installed my hood, we just took out the bump stops. We did this after looking and thinking for a while and decided that was the easiest spot. I like where they are, but I wish I still had the bump stops. Right now I just have some heater hose on the hood pin to make the hood sit right. I am also not running the latch, which would also help support the hood.

I Thats actualyl a godo idea but i have different style pins they are the oval sorta of pins, not the cotter pin type and are bigger and probably harder to install. I was thinking of getting the ones you have where did you get those and how much were they?

Are these the ebay cowl hoods? If not where else have you gotten them and how do they fit?

You could use whatever kind of pins you want and mount them in the same place I did. Just make sure they're at the correct angle, correct height, etc.

I'd paint mine anyhow to match the car. The only color in my opnion that the CF looks good on unpainted is Black.. Otherwise it looks ricey to me.
