UPDATE!

The 859's are sedan coils.

here is a pic to compare...

859 on the left, 839 on the right.

Just by my 'bounce on them with my wopping 160 lb body' technique, the 859s seem a bit softer. But both are progressive (right?) so I have no clue as to how they would compare from a performance standpoints.

I am sending the 839's back to rockauto. Unless somebody here is interested. PM me if you are.

Kenny, why would you send back the correct springs for your GenI?

They are stiffer, which will result in a stiffer ride better for the twisties.

IMO, it'd ride like a SLO.

Send the 859's back. headbang

bacause the 'return policy' for rockauto is only 30 days. And I have had them for way longer than that. The 839's I just got.

unless somebody is in the market for the 859s?
PM me if interested.

on my Gen1, i have 858s up front with 1 1/2 coil cut off. on the rear, 839 with 1 coil cut. approx 2" drop all the way around, and very nice ride with Tokicos.

I think this is exactly what I am going to do for my 94...

except one thing....due to the added weight of the ATX tranny, should I consider keeping a half coil on there to compensate?

Teg,
i only cut one and a half coils on the front because the stock spring ends were opposite each other. on the CC858s, the spring ends were on the same side of the spring. to maintain proper settling, i went with 1 1/2 coils. IIRC, it was mentioned somewhere that the front CCs have 2-3 dead coils.
