How many cooling fans should a 95 MTX SHO have?? I have seen some documentation that says there should be two, but my car has one (inside).

I thought that there were two on both the MTX and ATX; one on the outside (10") and the other on the inside (13").

The car runs hot very easily, especially in stop and go traffic and the single fan does not seem to be very effective. The needle goes up to approx 3/4 of the temp gauge before the fan kicks in.

That sounds about right. My fan dosent' come on until the needle is between the N and O in Normal. Dosen't need to stay on very long though - especially in this cold! One fan seems to cool my engine just fine. How does it not seem effective?

The OEM gauge is garbage. It's unreliable and it's only a 15 degree sweep. A SHO that is running fine and sitting at the N could be running at the same temperature as the SHO that is running in the L. Garbage the gauge. :)

is this true about the gauge.Mine runs on the N with the A/c on in the summer. But the car run great and does not seem to be boiling over at all.But it still concerns me should it?Would an after market temp gauge be the ticket?

Check yo' thermostat.
hmm, before changing my t-stat coolant temp ran around the M...after t-stat change, it doesnt even get to the L. T-stat is OE recommended temp. my cooling system is completely flushed, new radiator, new t-stat, and working single fan. in hot weather when the A/C works, temp reaches to the M, fan runs for a minute, temp drops to L, fan shuts off.

Funky. When I replaced mine, it was stuck open just slightly. When constantly driving, the temp would level off around the L - after the new tstat it sits right around the A. Fan comes on between the N and O, shuts off around the R-ish.
