OK, i fixed everything thing i thought was wrong with the sho the other night, AND after doing that, i turned the key and ittried to start alot quicker, but it make this horriable screech noise again.. My buddy said it was a back fire, and i saw alittle bit of smoke come up from somewhere. SO now i ask, can you get me the firing order and the correct location on the coil. Ive seen two and i im not sure which one is the right one.... Thanks... ALSO, when i turn the key the temp gague shoots WAYYYY up. Where is the sensor for it... thanks alot....

Did you change or have the timing belt off?

Unusual crank speeds/cadences are often the result of a motor that's out of time (as is backfiring).

Here is the proper plug wire routing order to get you started:

Nope, we didnt mess with timing or anything, it was pull motor and trans, unbolt and rebolt new trans, install in semi reverse order... I probably messed up a connection some where... Thanks for the picture

That firing order is easy to mess up!

BTW, check the NebSHO section for the detail of our next meet! (and on the meet on Sunday)

Roight. Connected the plug wires according to that diagram, and I'm still getting what sounds like a cylinder or two firing up into the intake. Also, as soon as the ignition is turned from "lock" to "Run", the coolant temperature gauge shoots up to it's maximum reading and stays there as long as the key is turned to "Run".

Any ideas?

Unplug the single wire connector from the sender. If it still gives full needle deflection, then the signal line wire is shorted to ground (probably pinched).

Put your vehicle's info in your signature or your profile, that we know what you're working on. There are differences between years and versions and guessing is not productive.
