Coolant loss?

I have been perplexed for the past two months with this problem. The loss is only about an inch or two [in coolant tank] per 200 to 300 miles. I can't pin point the leak but can smell when I stop and open the hood. Loss is more if I have a long high speed run [75-80 interstate] that day. I have flushed the cooling system and cleaned between the radiator and condenser. Temperture gauge has not gone past 25mph even after the low coolant light came on. I replaced the radiator cap today and am hoping for any input. The SHO has recently past 273k, has no tranny or engine issues. Thanks in advance Ricky

Probably a cracked tank, but could also be a pinhole in the radiator or a hose somewhere.

Start looking for the wet spots and follow them to try to pinpoint the leak.

Also the lower rad hose where Ford put the T for the smaller hose.
