I have been trying to track a coolant leak down for over a year now on my 95 MTX SHO. I initially thought it overflow tank. I have checked for cracks and confirmed no leaks there. I recently replaced the radiator with an all aluminum one and at the same time replace the thermostat. I still have a coolant leak. The leak seems to come and go. One week I'll have to fill up the overflow tank 2 or 3 times; other weeks none. Sometimes when I get out of the car I'll smell warm coolant; most times nothing. Any thoughts on how to diagnose and fix the problem?

Also does anyone know how to turn off the coolant light at the instrument panel other than pulling the bulb? I can't stand lights and would like to turn it off temporarily while I work on fixing the problem.

Recent leak found

I found a recent leak which caused me havoc. I went to Auto zone and rented a pressure tester and there was a pin leak coming from my heater hose spraying on my transmission and connectors. What a PITA until I found it. Get a pressure test and I think you will find your leak quickly.

Go to an auto parts store and rent a pressure tester. Most have one in their loaner tool selection. That should help you see where it might be leaking. Take it for a good long drive and get it nice and hot and then park it on top of a big clean piece of cardboard. Any leaks or drips will show up on the cardboard and then you can go from there. You can unplug the sensor on the overflow bottle to see if the light goes out. That might make it stay on though. Never tried it.

I would go to advance auto rent a pressure tester and go over the whole engine and chk the passenger floor for dampness and for visual leaks if not then it could be internal depending how hard you hammer on the SHO

Check the hoses coming & going from the throttle body. One of 'em was leaking on mine, spraying the coil.
