Well, I just purchased an SHO last week. It had been sitting for a good 6 months prior to me bringing it back to life so i expected there to be problems. I started her the other day and noticed a coolant leak from the rear section of the motor. It's too cramped back there to stick my head in and look, but i wanted to ask you guys if there are coolant lines back there that, after a while, will leak. I noticed when i got her home that the coolant reservoir was empty so i filled her up. The level did drop quite a bit after I started her up (for the fifth time maybe after the 6 months). I have very good car knowledge, but am a noob to SHOs, so hang with me here. I'm going to try to investigate this more by the weekend, but wanted to find a general area to pay attention to. I worry, because this is going to be my DD that I am trying to make street worthy

Yes, there are some hoses behind the engine. There is a crimped hose that like to leak some where down there. IIRC, it is attached to the bottom of rear cylinder head on the driver's side. You just cut off the crimped part, and use a small section of regular hose with a couple of clamps for the fix.

The steel tubes that the hose is attached to can rot out as well, especially on rust belt cars. Easiest way to get at it would be to pull the upper intake, and use a cooling system pressure tester to pinpoint the leak.

You don't have to take the intake off, but it makes things easier to get at.

the coolant crossover tube that connects the thermostat housing to the water pump housing has a couple of o-rings on it that are notorious for leaking, and the typical result of that is coolant leaking down the bell housing toward the cabin.
