Okay, after further inspection I found the general location of the leak, but with everything so tight I can get an exact fix on it.

If looking at the water inlet and thermostat housing there are a couple of other smaller hose outlets. I think it is coming from the one on the top right. When I open up the throttle coolant shoot downwards and towards the firewall.

Of course I can put my hand and nothing will fit in there without burning the crap out of me. It was hard to even look while opening up the throttle without getting a spray of coolant.

Question is, could I have a blocked thermostat,(the car is not overheating at all)?

?What is that smaller top hose for?

I really don't think it is the hose to the heater?(i'm guessing because of the metal fiting.

I don't want to take it to a shop, especially here cuz there isn't anyone who know's the SHO, not even the dealer.

I've done a search on thermostate here, but didn't really find a solution?

Look in the engine modifications section for the "TB Bypass" thread that's been up there for the past couple of days. I posted a pic of the t-stat housing on there about the throttle body coolant bypass lines. Let's see if we can nail down exactly which ones you're talking about first.

fred,

What are the advantages/disadvantages to bypassing this hose? I assume the advantage is that it makes removing the intake easier for you fellas who like to polish it weekly. I assume it is there for improved cold running emissions. Is this the case? I am considering bypassing mine when I do my valve lash.

Let me see if I can post this pic with indicators.

I think it's the one right on top of the inlet/thermostate, but I can't see until I take off the trottle body.

That is the line that has to have coolant going through it. In doing the bypass, you take the line that would normally go to the throttle body, and just connect it to that ****** above the T-stat housing. That way you bypass the EGR coolant, and the throttle body coolant lines. I live in West texas, where a cold day here is like 40 degrees, so I just bypassed the whole mess. I found my coolant leak problem today too..the driver's side end tank has a considerable crack in it and I will have to replace soon. At least I know where mine is now...SHEESH

I would like to get these parts tonight:

1. Thermostat 180degree?

What else should I do while i'm in there?

Please post everyone.

Could you explain that more? Do you mean that if you step on the gas coolant comes out someplace??? The hose with the metal end crimped on it is a heater hose.

Okay, when i open the throttle at stand still, the coolant seems to be shooting out from the bottom of that hose on top of the inlet housing. However, I can't see it for sure without risking a shot of hot coolant in my face.

I want to replace the thermostat and whatever that hose is and whatever else is needed in that area since it'll all be taken off.

Anyone know the size and length of that hose or part number?

Problem solved! It was the hose running from the IAB connection down above the water inlet.

The only advice here is if you are ever going to take off the IAB and clean it, replace that hose if you haven't yet. It is the only way to get at the clamp.
