hello guys,

well like 3 weeks ago or so I just had the front 60 k done ( waterpump- timing belt, cps sensor, cam seals, - also plugs, wires, and valve cover gasket. now i've been smelling burned antifrezze mixed with oil burn smell. once in 4 days i have to refill the coolant reservoir bottle with coolant... where is my coolant going ( no leaks or steam out of engine bay that can be in visual contact ) .. please help what is going on with my SHO??.. why is the smell of antifreze and burned oil mixed together ??.. do i have a bad head gasket or a blown one id rather say ??..

please help me :frown:  :hail:

It might just be leaking from a hose and burning off when it hits something hot. My SHO has been losing a little coolant, ever since winter started. Once every 4 weeks I have to refill the resovoir when the low coolant light comes on. I'm not gonna bother with it until it starts to be a bigger problem.

There's a a lot of places for coolant to leak. I would initially suspect that maybe something wasn't put back together properly from the recent work that was done.

After checking the coolant level in the COLD radiator, put on a new radiator cap and take it back to the shop.

Change your oil and see what it looks like. If it looks milky, its bad news...

For my 93, when I checked the rad. I fond that it was leaking at diferant times, being that the rad. is made out of two diferant things, it would exspan and contract deferantly and finaly needed to be replaced.

don't forget to really look over all those small tubes running to the intake on the thermostat side, I had a small coolant leak that eventually became a gusher when a dry rotted tube purst and poured collant all throught the bay.

Take a look at the bottom of the lower timing belt cover for any green drips. If you see them, then either the new pump shaft seals, the pump casing gasket (if reman installed), the crossover tube outlet O-ring or the pump-to-block outlet O-ring is leaking.

Coolant that dripped onto the cat should have burned off within the first 10 minutes the engine was running.
