Just a note that convention registrations are coming in just fine. We will start cashing checks and running credit cards (unless you noted we were to hold off, by prior arrangement) this week in case you have been wondering.

I want to urge EVERYONE to consider this YOUR year to finally get your SHO on the track! Be it the Blackhawk Farms event or the Union Grove event.

I can pretty much guarantee that you will NEVER find a cheaper track day than this year at Blackhawk Farms (at least for a non-subsidized event). At $135 for the first driver, this is about a full one hundred bucks cheaper than many events I am seeing this year due to insurance cost increases.

We also have added a class so ladies can get a chance to learn the track without being under so much pressure...and this class was added at the urging of several women at the last few conventions, it isn't a "sexist" class but intended to give pure novice drivers a chance to get up to speed safely and without pressure.

I have also come up with a new way for people to enjoy 90% of the fun of the Blackhawk track without extreme wear on the brakes. So I urge you to do this event this year or you may never get this chance, this cheap again! The SHO Club convention event has the huge advantage of only your FRIENDS on the track. Trust me, there is nothing that can equal the thrill of doing a lap at your best. And we don't care if it is fast, it only need be satisfactory to YOU!

We should be able to give everyone about an hours track time for your money.

And for the Drags, for $30, this may be a bit more expensive than some open drag days you can attend, but when was the last time you went to one of those and got more than two or three runs (at most tracks on popular days). I have paid $20 to get ONE run!

AT the SHO Convention, most people get 8-10 runs if they arrive early and keep coming back to the lanes.

Like the Blackhawk event, this convention event is THE place to get your car on a real drag strip and have fun without tearing up your car, waiting in line for the bracket racers for hours or putting up with all those Grand Prix and import freaks! (no slam intended to those SHO owners that own GP's or imports!) :)

What I mean is that you are among friends, and the pressure is off. Yes we have the eliminations at the drags, but it is all for fun, and you only need to push you and your car to YOUR own limit. There is no need to do any more harm to your car than you would going through the gears with a bit of steam getting on an interstate if that is what you want. There isn't anything magical about the drag strip that tears up cars unless YOU push the rev's yourself.

So resolve to finally get on the track this year. It is cheap and oh-so-much fun!

See you in Madison. Check out all the convention news on a regular basis at:
