Convention cruise route AVAILABLE, needs test runner ASAP

I've finally posted the THREE legs to this year's national SHO convention cruise. It's approximately 150 miles total, taking people from the Holiday Inn West in Kalamazoo to the Gilmore Car Museum, from there to South Haven, and concluding at Big T's restaurant in Lawton MI.

The cruise notes list all the road names and give fairly accurate distances between turns/towns. The notes are available to download from our club's yahoo group at this address:

If for some reason you can't access those files, let me know and I'll email them to you.

What I REALLY need right now is help from YOU!

I'd like several test runners to do the cruise and tell me the following:

1. Your opinions on the cruise.
2. How well the notes worked for you.
3. How accurate the listed mileages were, especially on the third leg because I didn't have a chance to write down those distances.

Beyond that, I'd very much like to hear any thoughts, praise, criticisms, etc on this drive. If there was a section of road that was confusing, or if the directions weren't clear in a specific spot I need to know about it! Time is winding down so if any of you have about 3 hours to spare, give this cruise a shot.

I would, but sadly, I'm down in St. Joe now and gas money's tight, so cruising up to the Zoo and making a 150 mile jounce is kinda out of the question at the moment. Otherwise you know I'd already be on it.

Yeah, but I know there are people right in Kzoo... c'mon guys we pushed hard to get the convention and now the support structure falls away? I spent TWO weekends and a couple tanks of gas on this cruise. You can manage regular lunch meets but 1 person can't take a test run on this route?

One afternoon, approximately 3 hours. 1/2 tank of gas = $20. That's all I'm asking.

My buddy just bought a 94 RED MTX so when we get it back together this weekend me and him well go take it for a spin on the route the following weekend. Ill get Alex and Matt to go too.

Jess, to access the cruise files you need to be signed up to the GLSS yahoo group. Which is a good thing anyway because you get on the mailing list.

I want to keep the files there until everything is finalized, but if you still have probs after signing up LMK and I'll email them to you directly.

I wuz gona run it for you during the week on company gas, but not sure I can squeeze it in before I leave my current employer. After that, I'll be an office guru back in GR. Weekends are occupied until May 18th, then I'll be in Canada for a week... By then someone will have done it I'm sure.

I'm looking at doing it this weekend, I had the kids all day saturday and a 3 hour trip in the car would be a 5 hour trip when you have to stop to *** every 5 seconds. I hope by this weekend gas prices will drop alittle bit too

7 hour trip in the Element... But if you take it, you wouldn't have to stop- you could just hose it out when you get home!



Chris- Jeez, I feel bad- I could have done it today, I thought that someone had done it by now. Lemme see what I can figure out- but being that I'm down to the last few work days at this job, I'm probably going to be running crazy now until the end.

Well, I don't want anyone to **** themselves on this but time is running out and I just need some extra opinions on how well the directions are done. I can follow the route just fine, but then again I'm pretty familiar with those roads already. And MY time is running out to make any changes to the notes and/or the route... I still may be in California this time next month and that means I WON'T be able to be at the convention, so the other west MI people will need to step up.

When 100+ SHO owners are here from all over the country I want to make SURE that they remember their time in West MI fondly, and that ain't going to happen without some help.

Chris, I ran 2 of the 3 legs over the last 2 days, I didn't have time to run the last leg to the restaurant though. Everything looks good to me. The route to the restaurant is pretty self explanitory, and from what I know of the roads, is spot on.
