I found the boot was torn on my passenger side cv halfshaft. Also noticed a wobbling feeling coming from that side. The shop down the block said they could rebuild mine for $35. How do I pull it out though? From the posts Ive searched, It says just pry it out. So there are no bolts or clips to remove for the passenger side?

Pull it out from the transmission?
Just get a pry bar in between the intermediate shaft and the axle and pop it out.
It may be a little tough but it'll come.

I haven't know too many shops to be able to rebuild the halfshafts. Hopefully they can do a good job.

We do offer brand new halfshafts: SHO Source

You have to unbolt the support bracket on the passenger axle, it's 2 bolts I think, easy to get to.

Then just get a prybar/flat screwdriver between the case and axle and pop it out.

No he doesn't. There is no need to remove the intermediate shaft when replacing the passenger side axle.

When I asked the same question everyone told me to pull out the intermediate shaft and half shaft as one assembly. This makes sense because you have to punch the intermediate shaft off of the half shaft with a strong hammer. It took me a four pound hammer and a brass punch to get the shafts seperated, nothing I would have been able to do from underneath the car.

It can be done either way. I've done it without removing the intermediate shaft (those two 10mm bolts were seized and stripped on my old SHO). It was a long time ago, so I don't really remember the degree of difficulty.

Thanks guys, I just yanked as hard as I could and it came off the intermediate shaft with no problem! Its a 94 MTX . They are rebuilding it now. We will see how long it lasts.. They have been in there for years and never had to go there until now. Lets hope this is good.
