On a '89-'91 SHO, the easiest way is to remove the wheel and tire and the inner fender liner. On the '92-'95, you can access the cone by removing the side turn signal. Not only did I unsrew the cone, but I trimmed away the front plastic face of the air box that it was connected to. The plastic is so soft, you can cut it with a knife.
