Computer controls torque?

I was reading an older Motortrend mag from last September that had a review of the SHO. They were saying the motor could have even more torque but that the computer keeps it flat from 1500 to 5000 to help save the drivetrain. Thought it was pretty interesting if its actually true?

It's definitely true. The torque "curve" from 1500 RPM to 5000 RPM is more of a torque plateau.

They might be talking about a common practice of removing timing during shifting to reduce torque shock to the driveline.

No, he is definitely talking about the torque curve. When viewing the chart, it is plainly obvious the computer is pulling power to save the transmission. There is no freakin' way an engine can naturally produce that sort of torque curve. That curve is flatter than Corey Haim's heartline (too soon?).

Ummm... A TwEECer is going to get you jack shit in this car. Take a look at the forum... this thread's about the 2010. An SCT tuner would do wonders, though!

I wonder how long it will be until someone starts to unlock the extra power the SHO has? 350ft lbs of torque is not that much, seems like the awd system could handle a lot more........
