What is the proper way to do a compression check and what is the acceptable range for a 95 3.2L SHO? I borrowed a compression checker from a friend but it has a flexible hose so I really cannot trighten it very well. The 3 front cylinders were left to right approximately 145, 120, 135. Which seems low to me but I'm not sure of the procedure.
Thanks,
Fred

Fred -
That's very low compared to readings I've gotten before.

My readings on my 91 were between 190-210 when taken about 2 months ago.

I called your house this morning, and got your work #; I'll call there about 9am. To answer your message, they are all together - all or nothing.

I've got a 94 3.2L and your numbers are way below what I got when I tested....

REAR
240 240 240

235 255 240
FRONT

A couple of things…. You may want to make sure you are using the right hose/link that screws into the cylinder. Also, since these engines have a lot of compression it may be possible that the seal in your compression tester went bad. I know when we tested mine we had to install a new gasket due to the high compression shredding the gasket that was in there.
