What are the available sources for a cylinder compression tester? Do you have to buy them or can you rent or borrow them from auto supply stores? Are there any recommnded brands and models? Thanks for your responses.

I bought a cheapie at AutoZone, but I believe they also rent them for zip (leave a deposit). The one I got had the different adapters for the plug threads also. Decent seals.

Nice pic. :)

Sears has a universal tester for 25 bucks and they olso have a professional one with different hoses and such for 114.00 dollars. If your gonna use it a lot I would get the more expensive one, if not then the lesser is fine.

I picked up a $20 tester kit from Harbor Freight Tools. I didn't need the top of the line, just a good ballpark number.

Thanks
Scott
