Hey Dudes!! My 95 MTX is no longer driveable. I have hit my friggin head so many times cuz of the pogo-sho effect. I found the old post with PN and contact info for Tokico, which is what we have now. I hope I can get some struts. What struts ya'll running with ground control coilovers?

I have coil overs but have Konis. The only part of the GC kit left on my car is the threaded section and the nuts.

You can contact Tokico and see if they will rebuild the ones you have. Konis are hard to come by. Try Shosource and see what they have. They were offering some stiff aftermarkets a while ago I think.

Yes, I read the Tokicos are not good for coilovers. They were ok for 35K or so. The PO put them on.
At shosource, I read about measuring 'from the rear knuckle down' to determine long or short, but I don't get it. On the steering knuckle: the strut nests into the knuckle, the lower ball joint connects to the lower knuckle, and the tierod end on the rear knuckle.
not sure where to measure
help please

The short/long body only applies to the rear struts. I'm not sure about the measurements from the knuckle, but measuring from the bottom of the strut tab (where the pinch bolt goes through), if it measure a little of 3", you have a long body strut.

If that's the case, you'll probably have to find some short body struts because they no longer sell konis for the long bodies.

OK, thank you. I'm working on it right now, but only front is up. Any issues running short body where the long was?

OK. Yes, I see that. The strut would just extend through the nestarea.

After comparing front and rear; the red threaded part of the coilover is solid on both rears, and loosey-goosey on both fronts. hmm got trouble or just stuck on the rears you think?

The short/long body only applies to stock Ford units. Any aftermarket units are one length only. Since you have Tockicos this does not apply. Also I am not sure if Konis will even install into the Tockicos.

Also we only have short bodies available which are the last remaining sets. So you have only one option available. If you can not go hunting for strut bodies we can install the Konis for you. We may even be able to prep them for the coilovers.

Here is where you need to measure if you were:

Koinis will install in the tockio front housings I have done that myself. I did not try the rears so I do not know.

Just the same as other housings? Or are there other modifications? I'll be tackling this myself very shortly. I bought my coilovers already mounted on Tokico's so I just threw them in for the time being.

Just needed to pull the tockio insert and drill a hole at the bottom the bolt will pull the insert in tight. You might have to use a longer bolt at first to get it to pull in far enough to get the bolt that comes with the strut to reach the insert then tighten the rest of the way.

I wouldn't be shocked if the rear fit in as well a few measurements would give you this info.
