Had coilovers, rough ride, replaced with factory structs and eibach springs much happier.

After driving Steve's car, it really feels like coil bind up front. When taking off in the parking lot, it made the pop noise coming from up front. It seemed like whenever weight is transfered off the front end, it pops. It made me curious so I put one of mine together.

With no tension on the springs without wieght on the struts, is it possible the springs are popping in and out of the spring perches whenever you hit a bump or transfer weight to the back? I think I will get some longer springs to combat this.

I need to investigate what my spring rates are. If they are too light, it would cause issues. I dont think longer springs are needed in the front.

There are at least a couple of easy ways to handle this. One is to put a zip-tie through the hole in the top and wrap it around the top coil of the spring. This keeps the spring and the top together. You can also put a "helper spring" between the main spring and the bottom perch, which keeps some pressure on the spring even in full droop to keep it from popping out of the top.

Like this:

They take up about a quarter-inch of space when fully compressed (which they are almost all the time). I used to run them front and back, now just have them on the back. I've done the zip-tie trick forever, still do.

Running a bump-stop is also a good idea.
