was up guys, i just got my engine rebuilt but it has some major problems and the people that rebuilt it, well to make a long story short, screwed me pretty bad, so basically i got my car that has some probs and i wanted to run the diagnostic on it, so i searched shoforum and found midwestsho.com printed out the instructions went out and tried it, hooked the plugs up right, and when i turn the car to "On" not turning on the engine, just the power, all the lights come on like it normally would then all go off except for the check engine, battery light and oil. i'm just wondering what i'm doing wrong or if they f'd it up real bad when they put it back together, i'm 100% sure i got the plugs hooked up right, got a paperclip put it in the top right on the big plug and originally i put it in the top on the white plug, but when that didn't work i put it in the bottom on the white plug, still didn't work and tinkered with it a little more, none of that worked either. if anyone has any advice please hit me up, i'd appreciate it :D (i want my SHO back!!!!!!!) ;p

just wanted to make it clear that the check engine light doesn't flash like the instructions say, it just stays on and nothing happens whatsoever

First I would recommend editing your post and deleting the epithet you used to describe how the people who rebuilt your engine treated you, then maybe you'll get some responses.

The white plug has only one metal post inside. There is no "top" or "bottom" plug. I would guess that you are not making proper contact with the posts inside the test plugs. Try again.

Here is a photo of the jumpers that I make. You will see that the 1/4" spade lugs on the ends. These are the proper shape to correctly contact the terminals in the test plugs.

uh yea, the problem was that after my engine was rebuilt, they forgot to properly ground the EEC, so a little tighten of the bolt to ground it right, solved all the problems :)
