Hi...
I replaced my old working DIS, which was cracked but still worked, with a DIS I got at the j/k.
After I put it on the car, it run rough but I knew my MAF was dirty so I didn't think to much about plus I was going on vacation and getting the car painted too.
The code we got was 49, which is Spout, DIS, or ECM. (timing off 10 degrees) I ordered a new DIS, it still ran rough. I have a re-man ECM so I put that in the car with out my LPM. The car run rough but no engine light. One thing that was odd however, was when I had the a/c turned on and car would die at idle. So I take the re-man ECM out and put back the other ECM and the LPM. Still runs rough but holds an idle with the a/c on but does blimp rpm at idle once the car is warmed up. Now once the car warms up it stalls and then the cooling fan starts to run.
My mechanic believes that the j/k DIS was bad and spiked the ECM so.... I am not sure myself. I believe the DIS I purchased could be bad or maybe the LPM is bad. I have a Rountda 60 pin breakout box to help find the problem but we can't plug it in because there is no room in the engine bay because of the SHO motor, any tricks to making it fit?
We did make sure the DIS plugs are nice and tight plus the spout is good and plugged in.
Any thoughts?
Lupo, are you still programing the LPM's? If so maybe I can send mine to you with my 2nd ECM so you can check it out.
