So if I buy the Cobra PBR calipers and modify the caliper brackets to work with 11.6" rotors under the slicers, I can still upgrade to 13" rotors later (with larger rims) by just replacing the caliper brackets or is there a better way?

(Would anyone upgrading to 13" want to trade their modified brackets for new ones? Saves me the trouble and save the other guy the cost of new ones.)

How do I make sure I buy the HD calipers, what Cobra years were they from?
I know the 1999 and later Cobras had the larger 42mm pistons.
I think I will be getting them off of ebay for the calipers, caliper brackets, and pads. (for $250? anyone have the username they bought their's from? musclemotorsperformance?)

I also plan on getting Earl's SS brake lines (list 94/95 SHO).

Yes, I know I need 94/95 knuckles, banjo bolts, and caliper bracket bolts.
Thank you for all replies.

Correct, a 2nd set of brackets that haven't been modified is all you'll need to go to 13's.

As long as the calipers have COBRA cast into them, there's no question. I forget at the moment the other ways to check.

FWIW, try Kurt and Mike at SHO Parts Northwest. I'm pretty sure they offer them with or without the SHO logo engraved in them, and can also mod the brackets. Close to or better than the eBay price IIRC (at least for the non-logo ones).

Thank you.
I just looked on their website and didn't see anything on brakes so I emailed [email protected]
I hope they still use that email address.

I am planing on getting the Earl's now and installing them on my current setup (stock) then installing the knuckles and everything else when I get them (not in a rush).

The difference between the heavy duty cobras and light duty gt calipers are the cobras have complete circles on the outside of the caliper and the gt have half moon shapes. Im sure a search would turn up some pics for examples.

Also, the way the cobras mount is different than the GTs. plus the GTs won't fit over 11.6" rotors... period, the brackets are much smaller

I want to put Cobra calipers on the front of my '97. Just what needs to be done to the brackets?

Paul, I don't remember, but I'm assuming you're running stock wheels?

Presuming that's the case, new holes need to be drilled and tapped, and the flat notches need to be milled to encompass the new holes.

Kirk can hook you up.

We still use the address, but were at the track yesterday

Kurt or I will check the mail and get you an answer. We do still have 12" and 13" kit available.
