Hey all,

I just recieved my cobra calipers in the mail today and I wanted to test my 94 knuckles for fitament with my 17" wheels (it might be very close, and i dont want to order the rest of the setup if it wont fit). I was wondering if anyone had the part # or a place i can find the bolts that bolt the bracket to the knuckle. I am upgrading from an 89 and just bare knuckles/hubs from the 94.

Thanks,

you can get them from Ford. They are about 5 bucks each.

If you do some track racing or a period of hard braking I recommend that you retorque them for safety.

yeah just tell them you need Cobra caliper bolts......new ones are a good idea but not necessary.

You will love them....everyone that rides in SR-69 has their hands on the dash when I hit the brakes.

The only thing to remember is......

You have to watch out for people behind you. I've had many people behind me veer off the road because if traffic stops....you stop faster than most cars and they don't think a Taurus will stop that fast.

Sure enough, I think the ford guys in my area are retards. I was wondering, does anyone have a specific part # for them? The guy here said i had to buy 6 at a time or something and that they dont have them in stock.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Many small parts are sold as a mulit-pack. That's just the way it goes sometimes. Look at it this way, how much does it cost the dealer to have a parts rep talk to you for 5 minutes, process the order, unpack the box from UPS the next day/week, and then spend another couple of minutes actually selling you the part when you return. It's easy to see they ain't makin' any money on $5 parts.
Some hardware stores carry a selection of metric bolts now, if you can determine the diameter and pitch you might find some there.

im not sure about Cobra specific bolts, but stock 94-95 bolts work, just need to have about 1/4" cut off the end. or go down to Ace Hardware and purchase the bolts. IIRC, the thread is M12x1.75, 35-40 length...cant remember
