I also feel the gears sometimes when I shift, especially in 1-2 and 4-3 shifts, although I believe this to be my bad synchros. My clutch releases fairly high, and is only about 4000 miles old. It is an OEM replacement from NAPA.wckrueger:
Had clutch replaced at 60k miles -- worked great for several weeks/several thousand miles. Now grinding when shifting from N to reverse and sometimes from N to 1st; can often "feel" gears when shifting. Dealer says self-adjuster is fine and grinding condition is normal. Also getting "whoomping" sound when shifting at high RPM. Dealer says "whoomping" is due to safety switch on clutch. Comments?
A WHAT????? Whoomping because of a safety switch????? Kindly post that dealer's name here, the rest of us want to stay clear of them. The only safety switch on the clutch is a starter interlock. Prevents you from starting the car while in gear and engaged, and going thru the back of the garage.,,,,,,,, Dealer says self-adjuster is fine and grinding condition is normal.
