Can anyone tell me is the clutch easy to install with the video? And what clutch would you use to put in the SHO for competitive driving or something...not soley for racing but just competitive. Where would you get the clutch from? Tell me all about the clutch, if you can.

I believe myself to be a rather accomplished SHO mechanic. I have performed dozens of 60K services, dozens of brake jobs, several strut and spring upgrades, connecting rod bearing changes, steering rack swaps, motor mount replacements and myriad other SHO maintenance operations. I just replaced the clutch and a few transaxle parts on my SHO last weekend and I am still tired. That is the most effortful exercise I have ever performed on my long time friend. Easy? Never would I use that descriptive to define a SHO clutch job. Never.

Scott you arent kidding when you say that the clutch job is a very exhausting job. I took me 3 weeks to fully complete my clutch job to the point were i was satisfied. I replace anything and everything that in my reach with the subframe out of the car. I know for a fact that all the bolts are torqued right and that is the best feeling in the world. Not knowing if a mechanic just zaps on the bolts with a compressor makes me cringe. But just like you I have noticed a buzz when ever i shift at high rpms (>5000). Everything feels fine and exactly how i would suspect it to. The buzz is only felt and heard when i am pushing in the clutch. Hopefully it is no problem at all.

It's not that difficult a service, it just takes a great amount of physical effort to crawl, slide, reach, pull, lift, twist, etc. I work out daily, but I had new muscle pains after that transaxle clean and ****. I too, felt much more assured knowing that all of the bolts were installed, Loctited, anti-seized and torqued as required.
