My 93 SHO is the first Manual Transaxle car I have ever owned. I like to think that I have picked up driving it rather nicely but I don't know. How do you know if you need a clutch or when it is getting close to needing one? Also I have an idea of what slipping is but what exactly is it and what does it feel like? Sorry if this sounds stupid..lol Thanks

Noise and the inability to shift easily have always been my first indicators for replacement. As for slipping, I was told some years back, beginning from a stop (in a parking lot or driveway - you don't want to do this in traffic) put the car in fourth and try to pull away normally as if you're in first gear. The car should stall right away. If the revs stay up and it puts up a good fight, the clutch is likely slipping. Might not be the best test, but i's a place from which to start. Good luck.

if the clutch is slipping you'll know under heavy acceleration, climbing a hill etc...if the rpms go up and you don't go anywhere.....bad clutch.

If you DO need a clutch I'm running a good special on SPEC performance clutches in the GB section. Lot of knowledgable people can answer questions for you.
