Hey all.

Coming up on 130k and figure I'd better get the OE clutch out of there before it grenades. Figure I've come close enough to a record.

Weighing on doing a Quaife (if I can afford it), also expect to do an Al flywheel. What other things should get done while it's this far apart? The car is in decent shape, 1 owner, always maintained. Will do SFBs and some other bushings, but what else?

- bearings?
- struts?
- trans parts?
- CV joints?

I'd hate to be taking it apart again in a year, on the other hand it's always had good oil and aside from a bushing in the shifter it's always shifted fine. I get one extra rebound when cresting hills "with gusto". Anything in there that isn't likely to survive until the 180k?

Many thanks, and a Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Spec, www.specpwr.com, has the stock Velo pressure plate but with dual Kevlar disk, including throw out bearing, for only $349.00, and have the aluminum flywheel for only $299.00. Seems like the perfect set up. I'd send the throw out bearing to ShoNut for the ceramic upgrade.

Thanks Dave, had been thinking about Spec but had no idea they'd have such a deal on the flywheel. Can't get the web site (not just because of the comma) but will research further.

I think I'm going to do oil pan gasket and maybe struts and call that the project. If the CVs or trans parts need attention they should be obvious, and with the oil history the bearings should still be fine (I'd hope!). I'd just hate to have been that close and then spin one, that would just be my luck after doing all the rest of this expensive stuff.

Thanks,
- Jeff

For $294.00 at SHO Nut you can get the complete clutch kit, TOB, TOB pin, plus all the wear items that need to be replaced. Can't go wrong with that price. I have the ceramic TOB in my car and it is incredible and so is the customer service from SHO Nut.

One item I don't believe I saw you mention was your rear main seal. If you have the tranny down, it's always a good idea to replace it as that's the only way to get to it.

Check out SHO Nut and if you have any questions just send Josh an email. He's always been very prompt in getting back with me and I've always been more than pleased with my purchases from him.

Edit: Also something to think about are your motor mounts. My tranny mount was in 3 pieces when Mark removed it. Lucky for me he had a spare as it didn't even dawn on me that it was bad.
