After installing a new motor in the beater (blue 95 MTX) I could barely get the clutch cable in the slot on the actuator lever. I had to pry the lever back about 1.5" to slide the cable in. I figured it was going to be an issue. I assume the clutch adjustor ratcheted down while the cable wan't connected. Now the clutch is way to tight. I"m not even sure in engages all the way. How do I losen up the adjustor? Do I need to take the pedal out?

Thanx in advalce.

Put a wrench under the clutch pedal to hold it up. This will release the paul from the quadrant and allow you slack to engauge the cable onto the TOB fork.

mine did this after clutch service and stabbing the peddle full stroke a few times corrected this. A new clutch needs to be broken in/bedded and that means no hard pulls for 300mi. Can you drive it normal for 300mi?
