Ugh.. I think I already know the answer to my question, but it's bad timing. Recently the SHO seems to not get full power to the wheels, rev high, etc. I'm guessing the friction disc is worn/wearing out? Before, the main problem spot I had was slippage in 5th gear on the highway, but other than that it was fine. Now it happens intermittantly in other places. The clock has about 148k on it and I have no past history of the car, so I don't know when/if the clutch was changed before. Isn't disc failure fairly uncommon due to prior TOB/PP failure? Any light that can be shed on this would be appreciated. Hopefully I'll be able to get the '94 back together within the next week and then all will be well for a bit. Also, how long will this clutch last in this state if I baby it?

Thanks again!

I'm assuming that it only slips when you hammer it right? If that's the case it will last you a little while if you baby it. I would order a clutch kit ASAP. It is the clutch disc that is giving you problems if it is slipping. Good luck.

I had pretty much the same problem. It was working Ok for a few weeks until it lost all power completely. I could not even move in first gear. You can try babying it but if for any reason you see it getting worst don't try and push it too much and try and get to the nearest mechanic before it dies.
