I have a 92 SHO with a slipping clutch,what are they like to replace? any special tools?Anything to watch for?Whats the best replacement clutch to use? and about how long to do the job?Thanks--DAVE

It's a pretty straight forward operation. I followed the helms the first two times and it took 11 hours each. That was waiting on the flywheel to be resurfaced as well.

The book calls for an engine support that you can make out of 2x4s or just use and engine hoist. Its a lot of work, but its not hard work. I recommend buying a flywheel holder so you can torque the pressure plate and flywheel bolts correctly.

One thing that you must do is use loctite on the flywheel and pressure plate bolts. If you don't, they will back out.

Finally, I recommend the factory replacement clutch from Josh at www.shonutperformance.com The whole kit is $219 delivered. I also believe that its the only place that you can get the NEW disk and pressure plate (canada).

BTW, I also reccommend going with the Ceramic hy-brid TOB that he offers. Its one awesome piece of equipment and it WILL prolong your pressure plate life.
