clutch questions

ok i have a question when i drive my car and igo to switch gears any gear like 1st to 2nd i push the clucth in and my car like stop, better example ok im at 3000rpms in first goin to 2nd i push down the clucth the car like slows dwon and you can feel it i know this soumds wierd but when i was drving my friends mustang i would be swicthing gears with no like slowing down when i press the clutch the car stays the same speed. when i bought the car the kid put the clucth in himself and he told me it was stiff, it has lossened up a bit but when i still press down on it same problem if im an idiot and SHO clutches are like this write so but if something is wired and maybe i should have it checked out let me know.

Are you saying that when you have the clutch pressed in or the shifter in neitral, the car slows down quickly rather than coasting? This would not be the clutch doing this, but the brakes. Check for the parking brake on, sticking rear calipers or a leaking diaphragm in the brake booster.
