My '94 SHO with about 130K is having "tranny issues." I've been told it needs a full clutch, and I've been told that it could be just a stretched cable, and I've been told that it could be the synchros.

Here are the symptoms:
* Can't go into reverse anymore with the engine running without EXCESSIVE reverse grind. (Used to be able to do the 1st to reverse, can't anymore.)
* All gears are difficult to shift into- just shifting gears is a workout (especially 1st and 2nd).
* No grinding when shifting into any forward gears.
* Does not seem to be slipping under hard acceleration.

Any thoughts? I'm the 3rd owner, no records. At 130K I'm sure the stock crappy clutch was replaced, I just don't know when.

Thanks.

My first thought on the hard shifting is worn pressure plate fingers. You can alsp try pulling up on the clutch pedal with 10lbs of force. :p

Like was said. Try adjusting the clutch cable by lifting up on the pedal. If no workie it does sound like you need a clutch job.

Im currently having the same exact problems actually. I replaced the cable to no avail. Unfortunately, its not like I got my moneys worth from my last clutch at only 15k :frown: oh well. I'm pretty sure it is the pressure plate fingers. Right now im saving up for a clutchmasters stage I with a ceramic TOB so that I wont have to replace this f'in thing every few years.
