look under 271k Clutch, bottom left hand picture. Once you click on it, click upper left "Original Size".

He shows a nifty little bracket and what size bolt it is=
20mm x M8 (Grade 8.8). The M8 is for the spacing of the threads. I found a ton of them at the local big hardware store.

I bent a strong steel bracket almost like he has, (it was a 90degree angle, I just put it in a benchvice and bent it out so it was more like 30degrees) and drilled one of the holes out a little bit. This makes it easier to hook a chain to.

There is an empty bolt hole below the driver's rear side of the manifold, in the block. (Actually it's probably the head.) Put the bolt in this, and make sure you put it in as far as it will go, without forcing it. If you leave it out a bit, it could possibly bend the bolt.

Good luck!

Nice plans! I saw that, but did not know I could enlarge it enough to read it! I'm stopping in at the hardware store and building one tonight. Quiafed trans/AL SFB's should be in in time for the fireworks!

I just dropped in for a quick bedtime story. This thread reminds me of how helpful the Forum can be. I'm glad my engine support design has been put to good use. I would e-mail you my clutch procedure, but not only have I been on vacation (1 week) and on a business trip (3 weeks), the hard drive on my home computer failed to spin up after returning from my vacation. The new Dell 8300 is in boxes in the dining room after its delivery today. Hopefully I will have a chance to configure it before I head off again on another business trip next week.

Added later...
Well, here it is Saturday and the new computer is alive and kicking. I transferred the second hard drive from the old machine to the new one that contained a backup of the dead C drive (so I can recover all of the drivers to reconstruct the old PC after replacing the old boot hard drive) and all of the data including Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and the many megabytes of pictures I had stored. I am back in business.

I have also been traveling a great deal. I am just thankful that I am able ot be home with my family through the holiday weekend. Have a happy fourth of July.
