Hey everybody. Haven't posted in a long time, usually only when a question or problem arises.
I installed a SHONUT 9 puck, Hi-Revs Jr PP, Fidanza flywheel and a SHONUT throw out bearing, and have had nothing but problems since. The clutch acts like it won't disengage properly. I have a hard time going in and out of gear, and don't even think about reverse. I have pulled the trans back out, checked all the part numbers, measured everything I could think of, and to no avail.
Has anyone had problems with this combination? I figured this would be about a 5 hour process, but now 2 weeks. I don't have any hair left to pull out!

Thanks in advance.

did you install a new quill sleeve? If so, which you should have, did you use sleeve retainer on it?

Did you have any problems like this before the clutch service?
Was the clutch FORK replaced?
Is the disc installed correctly? There is a specific "flywheel side"
Is the clutch cable auto-tensioner working properly?

laxmax, the quill sleeve has three retainers on it.

The clutch I had in was a Valeo, 35k miles, bought something a little firmer. No problems whatsoever.
Clutch fork was not replaced.
The flywheel side faces the flywheel. (checked, double, and triple checked)
The clutch cable tensioner I have no doubt is working properly. My feeling is the pressure plate has an issue. I'll pop it back apart tomorrow night, only takes about an hour.

Keep them coming! Thanks guys!

Did you take any digital photos during the install? They can really help when trying to troubleshoot/trace your tracks.

Just noticed you mentioned a Fidanza was installed.

Check to make sure the pressure plate is COMPLETELY seated against the flywheel. Check this thread for more info: http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=61255

Also, when the engine is just running, clutch engaged (but in nuetral) are there any odd noises?

you cant just rely on those 3 little tabs on the quill. you need to put actually sleeve retainer all over it. sorta like locktite. actually is made by them too. but otherwise, it can become unseated and prevent proper clutch disengagement.

If you checked everything it might just be a bad combination. There are only so many things that will cause hard shifting. Did you torque the pressure plate bolts properly? Also inspect the rivets and straps on the PP.

I dropped the tranny tonight in 45 minutes. (New Record!) I will have a better chance and time tomorrow to really inspect things. Nothing is out of place, no bolts loose, clutch is installed properly; flywheel side in...hopefully I'll figure it out tomorrow.

Thanks for the help.

did you check to make sure the flywheel dowels are not too long? Look for a gap between the mating area of the pressure plate and the flywheel (there should be no gap). To check for sure, you can remove the pressure plate and remove teh clutch disk. Then put the pressure plant back up on the flywheel. It should sit totally flat. Recent experience is tha tmany of the FIdanzas had dowels that were too long, so the pressure plate could not sit flat. Big problem if that happened.
