clutch fork

i'm going to use my old clutch fork, which was a little bit messed up, but after a file and a lot of micrometer measurements, it is the exact same on both sides (down to 5 decimal places)

i really need the bushings, as i need the car this weekend
if anyone has them, please call asap - i have $7 or parts

Did you find a source for the clutch release lever bushings? I posted in another thread, but apparently you didn't see the post (Eric VerValin's transmission/drivetrain noise thread).

http://www.shonutperformance.com/ right on the clutch parts page. I highly recommend the teflon/aluminum/ceramic upgraded bushings, makes the clutch action smooth as glass.

anyway
i managed to make some
i used some brass things from Ace hardware
brass is softer than aluminum, so it'll contour to fit if there's any imperfections

basically i made brass bushings, and my clutch pedal feel is much closer to where it should be
yay for the $1.50 fix

But how much time would the SHO be down if he had no bushings?

time to put in the brass bushings : under 5 minutes
they were the right size for the hole, plus about 2 hairwidths, so a very light hammering got them in
it works great and saved me some money

the plus to these : the sho was already down because of the throw-out bearing, but we waited to replace the bushings, hoping to pull them out of a different trans... except those were almost worse than the ones we melted, but rather than wait for a week or so for the bushings, i waited the 20 minutes to drive there and back
