I am putting the transmission back into my 90. today I ran into a snag while working on it. I wasn't able to put the clutch cable back into the arm on the transmission. It doesn't seem like I have any slack to pull the cable with. I tried to pry at the arm to pull it back and get the cable in but i was unsuccessful after 3 hrs. Is there an easy way to do this? I don't know if maybe the clutch adjusting mechanism is holding up the slack or what. I am at a complete stop on this project. thanks.

You must have something propping up the clutch pedal. Place a bungie cord from it to the steering wheel or a board underneath it. The cable will then be able to "stretch" slightly to get it in there. Once you are done with this, remove the bungie cord/board and press the pedal in, then pull back on it. If you hear it click, it's adjusted itself to work properly.

Agreed, prop up that pedal to release the self adjuster. This will give you the slack you need.
