I have just replaced the clutch in my 94 sho. The reason the clutch failed is the tob got so hot that the plastic melted and the ball bearings turned blue and the whole thing exploded and the clutch fingers were damaged. I replaced the disk, pressure plate, tob and had the flywheel resurfaced. I also replaced the steel sleeve on the imput shaft that the tob slides on. I checked the bushings on the throw out fork lever and they are good and tight. My problem is I checked the amount of play in the throw out fork and it seems to be to tight. I can't move it at all. It seems that this is why the tob has failed. I have tried to readjust the clutch by disconecting the cable reataching it and lifting the clutch pedal. It seems to be to tight every time. Is there anything else that I am over looking that I should check? I don't want this new tob to fail also.

Drive it for a few blocks, Then pull up on the pedal.. It should "POP"..
Mine did the same thing when I changed my clutch...

im not sure but do the MTX SHO's have a quadrant like the fox body mustangs?? If they do then all you have to do is mash the clutch pedal to the floor and then side step your foot off the clutch pedal and this will automatically adjust the cable.

The TOB is suppose to ride the pressure plate fingers. I'd just replace the clutch cable and adjust the tension on the cable. If you don't hear any clicks when you readjust, you need to look at the adjuster.
